Reataining wall on micropiles in San Raffaele Cimena (Torino Italy)
Structural and geotechnical design: eng. Antonio Cagna Vallino (Torino Italy)

This project concerns a retaining structure based on micropiles whose aim is to allow the realization of a safe house courtyard even if it is built on an hillside. The overall height of the wall is 6.50 m and the width of the base is 2.00 m. Micropiles have a diameter equal to 18 cm, a length of 8.00 m and the distance between them is 2.00 m.

As you can easily see looking at the first picture, the soil consists of three layers: the first one is non cohesive, the second one is cohesive and the third one is rock; poles have their basis in rock.
