Project of a retaining wall in Moconesi (Genova Italy)
Structural and geothecnical design: Ing. Silvio Ricci (Chiavari Genova Italy).

The illustrated project is about the construction of a retaining wall for the restrain of a front of rock during the excavation.

The choosen type of wall is a cantilever one that is built of reinforced concrete and it is typically composed of an horizontal footing and a vertical stem wall. The weight of the soil mass above the heel helps to keep the wall stable.

The overall height of the wall is 3.20 m and the width of the base is 1.30 m; the soil consists of one layer: the ground is non cohesive.
